| Jason L. Oakes received his Ph.D. in ethnomusicology from Columbia University in 2005. He has since taught classes at Columbia, Manhattan College, John Jay School of Criminal Justice, and at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (Fall 2008). His work on musical reenactments, tributes, impersonators, and karaoke has been published in several academic anthologies and in the journal Current Musicology. At RILM, he oversees and edits all entries related to popular music. |
