  Michele Smith has a performance degree from Kent State University and a Masters in Musicology from Brooklyn College. She continued her classical flute training with Robert Langevin, principal flute, New York Philharmonic and Bernard Goldberg former principal Pittsburgh Symphony. Her love of jazz has led her to work with such wonderful teachers as Barry Harris, Mauricio Smith, Roland Hannah, and others. Ms Smith produces her own groups and performs with a variety of chamber groups in New York City including Art Lillard's Heavenly Big Band and The Project. She is a member of the Reverend Billy Stop-Shopping Gospel Choir which has toured throughout the US and the UK. A former curator and archivist at the New York Philharmonic she has also worked for the Estate of Andre Kostelanetz cataloguing his papers and memorabilia.
