Desmond Hosford’s responsibilities include overseeing his editorial team; and accessing, translating, editing, and indexing French and Italian material, particularly in historical musicology classes of all periods, opera and dramatic arts, and literature.
Dr. Hosford holds a PhD in musicology and a PhD in French from The Graduate Center of The City University of New York. He specializes in and has published widely on 17th- and 18th-century French tragedy, tragédie en musique, the Bourbon court of France, early modern gender and sexuality, and animal philosophy. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of French at Hunter College.
