Publications
The main publications of RILM are two online databases, RILM abstracts of music literature and RILM retrospective abstracts of music literature, that together contain over 750,000 bibliographic records. RILM also has print publications such as the Retrospectives and Perspectives Series, its style manual, and also an inventory of annual print volumes from 1967 to 1999, all shown below.
RILM Retrospectives (series)
Since 1972, RILM has been publishing topical bibliographies. The two most recent volumes in RILM's Retrospective series are Speaking of music: Music conferences 1835–1966 and Liber amicorum: Festschriften for music scholars and nonmusicians, 1840–1966.
RILM Perspectives (series)
RILM Perspectives is a series of conference proceedings sponsored by RILM, exploring major issues in music studies. The inaugural volume, Music's intellectual history documents the conference inspired by the publication of Speaking of music: Music conferences, 1835–1966.
RILM Abstracts of Music Literature
RILM has published first quarterly then annual volumes from 1967 to 1999. All of these volumes are in print. The final annual volume is also the largest, containing 19,619 records published exclusively in 1999.
