Michael Lupo prepares detailed bibliographic records of musicological literature, representing a wide range of musical practices, published in numerous countries, especially Italy. Additionally, he assists in the training of new editorial staff and contributes to projects that expand the exposure of RILM’s resources, including The Smithsonian Institution blog collaboration and RILM’s office hour, hosted on Facebook. 

Michael is a PhD candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center in musicology where he researches 20th-century avant-garde music in Italy, particularly the late electroacoustic compositions of Luigi Nono, which is the subject of his dissertation. He also teaches courses on piano performance and American popular music at The John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
