RILM and IAML/IMS New York City

29 April 2015

Moving forward, Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale’s two main bibliographic products, RILM Abstracts of Music Literature and RILM Retrospective Abstracts of Music Literature have been realigned and renamed on the EBSCO platform.

Effective 29 July 2015, RILM Abstracts of Music Literature will change its name to RILM Abstracts of Music Literature (1967-Present only). At the same time, the content of what was called RILM Abstracts of Music Literature has been merged with RILM Retrospective Abstracts of Music Literature into a single, comprehensive database. The new product is called RILM Abstracts of Music Literature and will provide a single point of access. With the merge, customers will be able to search all RILM Abstracts content and utilize RILM’s four authority databases (Names, Subjects, Instrument Families and Countries), which was previously unavailable when accessing both databases in a multi-database search environment.

In addition, we are releasing feature enhancements to the functionality of the Major Topics and Subjects fields. The data contained in the Major Topic field has been enhanced to provide users with a more dynamic search experience, and the Subject field will now engage all of the preceding terms to provide more relevant results. For more details on these enhancements, visit the EBSCO Support Site.

Regular users of EBSCO should have heard from EBSCO regarding these changes, which will require some updating of links and the saving of searches, but for more information on these changes, please contact EBSCO’s Customer Support.
