RILM would like to invite you to lunch, hosted by RILM and EBSCO, in Orlando at the Music Library Association’s annual conference.
On Friday, 24 February, from 12:30 to 2:25 pm, RILM will present, “Shaping Music Resources in the Twenty-first Century: RILM and its New Releases RAFT and MGG Online” in Ballroom C at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, located at 9700 International Drive.
Barbara Dobbs Mackenzie will give a general update on the RILM organization, and on RILM Music Encyclopedias (now enlarged by four new titles). Following this, Jonathan Greenberg will introduce RILM Abstracts of Music Literature with Full Text (RAFT), an expansion and enhancement of the unrivaled global bibliography of writings on music with the addition of a million pages of full-text content from more than 200 key periodicals. Available on the EBSCOhost® platform, RAFT offers search and browse for each full-text issue, cover to cover. Jonathan will also introduce the freshly released MGG Online, based on the authoritative German-language music encyclopedia Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart, 2nd edition, with updates, revisions, and additions to the over 19,000 original articles. MGG Online is available on RILM’s own powerful platform, offering advanced search and browse capabilities, personalized accounts, and much more.
All interested persons (scholars, librarians, contributors, board and committee members, etc.) are invited to this presentation. Please RSVP by 18 February to reserve lunch and a seat: Send an email to conferences@rilm.org with your name, institution, and “MLA” in the subject line.
Barbara and Jonathan will be available at MLA to discuss RAFT and MGG Online in person. If you cannot attend the lunch and want to learn more about the products or share feedback, feel free to make an appointment with Jonathan, jgreenberg@rilm.org . Jonathan and Barbara can also be found at the RILM booth in the Exhibit Hall.
