RILM at the SEM Conference

Please join Jim Cowdery, Insia Malik, and Russ Skelchy for virtual coffee sessions at the 2021 SEM conference. These sessions will take place on:

Thursday, 28 October

12–1pm: RILM Resources on Africa and the African Diaspora

1–2pm: Researching Music of Africa and the African Diaspora in Atlanta

Friday, 29 October

12–1pm : Researching Music and Performance of the African Continent

1–2pm: RILM “Office Hour”: Drop in with your questions or for assistance using various RILM resources and MGG Online for your research.

Saturday, 30 October

1–2pm: Researching Music of the Global African Diaspora

We will provide insight into RILM’s strong commitment to international and multilingual scholarship, and inclusion of global non-music resources that are relevant to ethnomusicologists, with an emphasis on researching performing arts of Africa and the African diaspora. Attend any session or all, and receive a free coffee gift card. Join RILM at the Third MUSAM Conference

10 October 2021

RILM will be present at the Third MUSAM Conference, Study Group “Music and American Studies” Spanish Society for Musicology, which takes place at the University of Santiago de Compostela and via the Zoom platform from Thursday 14 until Saturday 16 October 2021. 

On 14 October, at 12:30-13:00 CET, RILM Editor Beatriz Goubert will present the paper “Escuchando desde los datos: Una aproximación a los estudios de música iberoamericana desde los recursos digitales de literatura musical” [Listening to the data: An approach to Ibero-American music studies from digital music literature resources]. The paper will be given online and is accessible for registered participants.
